The course is designed to occupy the mornings, allowing participants the afternoon to relax, pursue further the ideas associated with the Alexander Technique, or explore the region. Each student will have a private half hour lesson per day. There will also be a group lesson each morning, to give students time to reflect on and experiment with principles of AT whilst having the advantage of a teacher nearby.

Some evenings, we will read a short extract from one of F.M. Alexander’s books, and discuss it over a glass of wine, sitting on one of the terraces or in the conservatory.

There is a regular Hatha Yoga lesson on Monday and Friday mornings led by Anne Morgan, an accredited Hatha Yoga teacher. The lesson is run for local area residents and course participants are welcome to attend if they choose.

A Typical Lesson
A typical lesson requires no special clothes and no special equipment: just a table, a chair and a desire to explore the possibility of change.

A lesson will last half an hour to forty-five minutes. During that time, the teacher uses her hands to guide you in everyday activities, such as standing up and sitting down, encouraging muscles to find their natural tone. Adjusting head position of an Alexander student during a table turn
