Early sesssions consider everyday activities which we do automatically, such as standing, sitting, walking and bending. Through discussion and guided movement, you learn to release unnecessary tension and allow the body to return to its natural alignment and balance. Once we’ve worked with the basic principles, we can explore activities of particular interest to you. One constant of the Alexander Technique is the Balanced Resting State, or semi-supine. The benefits of lying in semi-supine accumulate over time. An investment of 15 to 20 minutes a day will bring a lifetime of benefits. More about how to learn the Alexander Technique with Shelagh. |
